Boubacar Sidibe is a Systems Engineer, Project Manager, and business development professional with over 20 years of international experience in renewable energy, mining, and infrastructure development across Africa. Throughout his career, he has successfully led complex projects from feasibility and financing through engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations, with expertise in EPC, EPC+F, IPP, BOT, and PPA delivery models.
He currently serves as Country and Business Development Manager at WElink Energy, where he leads the development of utility-scale renewable energy, hybrid power, and microgrid solutions for mining, industrial, and public-sector clients.
Previously, he held senior leadership positions with AXMIN Inc. and Avnel Gold Mining, working closely with governments, development finance institutions, investors, and private-sector stakeholders to deliver strategic projects across the continent.
His expertise combines technical knowledge in power systems, SCADA, automation, and digital technologies with strong commercial capabilities in project origination, contract negotiation, investment structuring, and stakeholder engagement.
Boubacar is passionate about delivering reliable, sustainable, and financially viable energy solutions that support industrial development and Africa’s energy transition.
In parallel with his professional career, he is pursuing an Executive Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) at Business School Netherlands. His doctoral research focuses on AI-driven decision support for integrating renewable energy and critical minerals value chains in West Africa, with the aim of strengthening governance, investment decision-making, and sustainable development.
His areas of interest include renewable energy for mining, public-private partnerships, ESG, local content development, critical minerals governance, and energy security.
Fluent in both English and French, Boubacar is committed to bridging industry practice, academic research, and public policy to advance clean energy, responsible mining, and sustainable infrastructure development across Africa.
