Ameh Michael Apeh is a Chartered Accountant and finance and development professional with more than a decade of experience in financial management, development finance, governance, and the international development sector. His professional background includes financial strategy, public financial management, donor-funded programmes, institutional strengthening, regulatory compliance, and policy research.
He is currently pursuing a PhD in Development Finance, where his research examines sustainable finance, fintech, inclusive finance, critical minerals, and Africa’s energy transition. His work focuses on practical ways to mobilize private capital, strengthen sustainable finance ecosystems, expand access to finance, and support a just and inclusive transition to clean energy across the continent.
As an ACCET Research Fellow, Michael is committed to producing rigorous, evidence-based research that informs public policy, strengthens institutions, and contributes to sustainable economic development. His research interests lie at the intersection of development finance, critical minerals governance, climate finance, carbon markets, green industrialization, digital platforms for renewable energy investment, and financial innovation.
Beyond his research, Michael actively contributes to knowledge sharing and policy dialogue within the green economy and sustainable development community. He serves as Co-host of the Green Future Podcast, where he engages with policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, and development practitioners on issues relating to sustainability, climate action, energy transition, and Africa’s emerging green economy.
Michael is passionate about translating research into practical policy solutions that improve governance, mobilize sustainable investment, deepen financial inclusion, and foster resilient, inclusive economic growth across Africa.
