Nfor is an Assistant Professor of Law at Villa College in the Maldives. He holds a PhD in Public Law from the University of Dschang, Cameroon, where his doctoral thesis on the prosecution of international crimes arising from internal armed conflicts in Africa was awarded the distinction of Très Honorable avec les Félicitations du Jury (summa cum laude). In recognition of its scholarly excellence and contribution to legal research, the thesis was awarded the “Best PhD Thesis Prize” in Dschang School of Law and Political Science by the University of Dschang for the 2021/2022 academic year.
His research lies at the intersection of international law, governance, environmental sustainability, human rights, and international justice, with a particular focus on Africa. His work explores how legal and policy frameworks can address some of the continent’s most pressing challenges, including the governance of critical minerals, energy transition, climate vulnerability, environmental degradation, resource conflicts, and accountability for mass atrocities. His scholarship is driven by a commitment to strengthening institutions, promoting equitable governance, and advancing sustainable development in resource-rich and climate-vulnerable regions.
His research focuses on international criminal justice, ecocide, climate justice, and environmental security. He has also published extensively on international criminal law, transitional justice, constitutionalism, and post-conflict reconstruction. By bridging rigorous legal scholarship with practical policy engagement, his work seeks to inform governments, regional organisations, civil society, and international institutions in developing evidence-based responses to complex governance and sustainability challenges.
He has presented his research at international conferences across Africa, Europe, Asia, and North America. Through his research, teaching, and public engagement, he is committed to advancing innovative legal and policy solutions that promote justice, accountability, environmental stewardship, and inclusive development across Africa and beyond.
