About the Internship

ACCET is looking for an exceptional graduate to support its communications and public engagement activities.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with leading policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, and development partners while helping shape conversations on Africa’s resource future.

Successful candidates will play a key role in supporting Africa’s Resource Future Podcast, ACCET’s flagship podcast, as well as webinars, digital communications, and public engagement activities.

What You'll Do

  • Support the production of Africa's Resource Future Podcast
  • Research guests and prepare interview briefs.
  • Coordinate podcast recordings and guest communication
  • Host or co-host podcast episodes where appropriate.
  • Support ACCET webinars and public events.
  • Develop website and social media content.
  • Translate research into engaging communication products.
  • Promote ACCET publications and activities.
  • Monitor developments in critical minerals and energy transition.

Who Should Apply

Rather than extensive work experience, we are looking for someone with:

  • A Master's degree (completed or near completion) in a relevant field.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Confidence communicating with senior professionals.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional on-camera presence.
  • Interest in African development and public policy.
  • Curiosity about critical minerals, energy transition, and resource governance.
  • Willingness to learn and grow.

Is this a paid internship?
No. This is a voluntary graduate internship designed to provide practical experience, mentorship, and professional exposure in policy communications and public engagement.

The internship follows a hybrid work arrangement. Depending on the nature of assigned responsibilities and mutual agreement with ACCET, interns may work remotely, in person, or through a combination of both. 

The internship is offered for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 12 months. Applicants will indicate their preferred internship duration during the application process. Continued engagement is subject to satisfactory performance and organizational needs. 

Applicants should have completed, or be nearing completion of, a Master’s degree in a relevant field and possess a strong interest in policy communications, African development, and public policy.
No. We are more interested in your communication skills, curiosity, professionalism, and willingness to learn than previous podcast experience.

Absolutely. We welcome applications from qualified candidates from Ghana, across Africa, and around the world. The internship offers flexible working arrangements, allowing successful applicants to contribute remotely, in person, or through a hybrid arrangement, depending on their location, availability, and the nature of their responsibilities.

Yes. Interns will receive guidance and mentorship from ACCET’s leadership and have opportunities to engage with leading policymakers, researchers, industry experts, and development partners.
Yes. Interns who successfully complete the programme will receive an ACCET Certificate of Completion.
No. However, outstanding interns may be considered for future opportunities within ACCET, subject to organisational needs and available positions.
